I offer weekend relationship intensives for couples that are equivalent to six to eight weeks of traditional therapy.  Couples do not have to be local to Massachusetts to participate.

What is a relationship intensive?

A relationship intensive is a short-term, focused form of relationship therapy. Unlike traditional weekly therapy, which can take weeks or months, a relationship intensive condenses the therapeutic work into a few days.

Format

• Starts with a 6-hour assessment:

  • Joint session

  • Individual sessions

  • Feedback session with conceptualization and treatment roadmap

• Followed by 3-15 hours of treatment in one weekend

Is a relationship intensive right for us?

Relationship Intensives provide couples with a concentrated therapeutic experience that dives deeper than traditional weekly therapy sessions. This approach is particularly beneficial for couples who:

• Need immediate support

• Want to focus on one or two specific areas

• Have limited availability for weekly sessions
  

Location and Availability

• Offers both online and in-person intensives

• In-person meetings in downtown Northampton

• Couples can be from anywhere; they do not have to be local to Massachusetts

• Free consultation call to discuss individual needs and recommendations

• Sessions are scheduled on weekends only

I provide weekly, 75 minute Telehealth therapy sessions for couples in Massachusetts who want to explore sexuality-related concerns.

What is sex therapy? 

Sex therapy, a specialized form of psychotherapy, is designed to help individuals overcome sexual difficulties, improve intimacy, and enhance overall sexual well-being. It addresses sexual concerns, challenges, and relationship issues related to sexuality through talk therapy, education, and practical exercises.

It's important to note that sex therapy does not involve any physical contact between the therapist and client.

I provide support and work with clients to address:

• Recovering from infidelity

• Navigating differences in sexual desire

• Pain during sex

• Challenges with orgasm

• Difficulty communicating about sex and desire

• Challenges/changes in postpartum, menopause, etc.

• Creating, navigating, and maintaining polyamorous or open relationships

• Unpacking desire, kinks, pleasure, etc

• Deconstructing sexual scripts

• And more

Relationship Coaching vs Couples Therapy

Relationship coaching differs from couples therapy by being more directive, facilitated, and educational. While improved connections fostered through coaching can enhance mental well-being, coaching does not specifically address trauma, anxiety, or depression. If these issues are present, individuals must seek ongoing weekly individual therapy for mental health support.

Relationship coaching is not covered by insurance and superbills are not provided. During the consultation call, an assessment will be made to determine if relationship coaching is suitable. If couples therapy is deemed more appropriate, referrals to couples therapists within your state will be provided. This determination may also occur after our work has commenced.

Is relationship coaching right for us?

Couples residing outside of Massachusetts who are seeking structured, educational, and skill-building support for their relationship can benefit from relationship coaching.

I work with clients to address many different issues and provide support for areas that include:

• Conflict and repair skills

• Improving communication skills

• Premarital Coaching

I offer educational presentations to the public in the form of workshops, panels, and speaking engagements. These presentations can be single or recurring events, and topics include:

• General relationship advice and insight

• General advice on sexuality and/or gender

• General advice on conflict/repair skills

For example, in 2022, I participated in a panel with other local sex therapists at Amherst College. We provided relationship and sex education, including a resource list and a live Q&A session.
